Veteran Jam is a non-profit organization operated out of Asheville, NC. Our mission is to increase awareness of the sacrifices and struggles of our veterans through community events aimed to foster purposeful and healing relationships.
Through our rapport with some truly amazing local veterans organizations, we are able to showcase and recommend numerous resources and outlets beyond our events for those in search of purposeful contributions and relationships.
We invite you to join us in honor of all our veterans at one of our upcoming events and always encourage any ideas you may have to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed, as well as, stand in support of those still fighting.
Asheville native, Cpl. Joshua Alexander McArdle lost his personal battle in May of 2013 leaving behind countless loved ones. In hopes of aiding others through their struggles and hardships and in support of all our veterans, the concept of Veteran Jam was brought to life by his family in February of 2014, shortly after what was to be Joshua’s 30th birthday.
In June of 2014,Veteran Jam held its first event, VeteRAN Jam 5K and Festival to celebrate and thank our veterans with the help of Joshua’s family, friends, volunteers and community sponsors. In efforts to extend its services, in March of 2015, Veteran Jam became a 501c3 organization.
As a concept turned organization started by family of a love one lost, our hearts are near and dear to the overwhelming statistics surrounding conditions such as PTS leading to soldier suicide, as well as the countless struggles our veterans face to reacclimatize to the civilian lifestyle. The numerous resources we now embrace and are so thankful for were unfortunately not known to us before Joshua’s passing.
We feel strongly of the importantance that we advocate for our veterans, as well as the admirable organizations that stand behind them.
As a federally recognized and approved non-profit organization, all donations are tax-deductible
